Born in Chicago in 1951, Father Fred Riccio and his family moved to Pleasanton in 1960, where he was a member of St. Augustine's Parish. He entered St. Joseph Seminary in Mountain View after graduating from 8th there through his High School and College years. In 1973 he went to St. Patrick Seminary in Menlo Park, where he received his Master's Degree.
Father Fred was Director of Vocations for the Diocese of Oakland from 1983-1986. He became pastor of Queen of All Saints in Concord ('87-'94), St. Joan of Arc in San Ramon ('94-'08), St. Joseph Basilica in Alameda ('08-'13) and has been admin-
istrator of St. Rose Church in Crockett and St. Patrick Church in
Port Costa prior to his assignment to St. Mary in September of 2014.
