St Mary Church offers a variety of opportunities throughout the liturgical year for the celebration of sacraments of the Church. Gathering as ONE church, we experience Baptisms, Confirmation, Marriages, Reconciliation, Anointing of the Sick among us, and finally, the sacrament of the Eucharist that binds us to Christ, one another and the global Church.
Jesus touches our lives through the sacraments. Our celebrations of the sacraments are signs of Jesus’ presence in our lives and a means for receiving His grace. “Sacraments are ‘powers that comes forth’ from the Body of Christ, which is ever-living and life-giving. They are actions of the Holy Spirit at work in His Body, the Church. They are ‘the masterworks of God’ in the new and everlasting covenant.”(ccc 1116)
The Church celebrates seven sacraments, which are divided into three categories:
The liturgy at St. Mary is truly a prayerful time for the community to come together as the Body of Christ.
There are many opportunities for parishioners to actively participate in the Holy Mass and fulfill their Baptismal promises. One of these ways is by volunteering as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, Lector, Altar Server, Usher or Greeter.
How do I go about volunteering for one of the lay ministries at Mass?
It's very easy, and we will provide you with all the training you need.
If you are interested in becoming involved in any of the many other ways that help the liturgy, we would love to have you volunteer. The liturgical ministries are guided by the Liturgy department and assist with all liturgical celebrations. Please start by contacting Tim Mannix for further details.
Along with Mass you can always spend time in the presence of Christ in our beautiful Adoration Chapel.
